In a nutshell, Caffe Doria is a nice little Italian cafe at Yonge and Roxborough. The cafe has a lovely lunchtime patio and serves up good, simple food. Couple this with its reasonable prices, and you have a few reasons why it’s become something of a casual Rosedale neighbourhood go-to spot.

Their tidy selection of typical lunch foods includes soups, pizzas, and salads of all kinds. An ever-changing soup of the day and about a dozen varieties of pizza and salad keep things fresh, and although I do enjoy the food just fine overall, their panini were disappointing and I wouldn't recommend them.

However, on the bright side, the cafe offers a nice breakfast menu — fruit salad, a selection of bagels, frittatas and so on — complete with a full espresso bar and a nice selection of teas.

But no matter what food you grab, try to get a seat on the patio. It has a great atmosphere and a relaxed vibe. The patio is what gives Doria a lot of its charming reputation as a fun, laid-back cafe to check out.

I thought the service was fine enough, and the food tasty and filling overall, but even though Caffe Doria is a nice place to go if you’re in the neighbourhood, there really isn’t a rush to get there. Almost everything about the cafe is alright, but other than the lovely patio, nothing is too extraordinary.
