County General took over the old Oddfellows space on Queen. As it turns out, maybe the previous venue's name suits the restaurant better than County General does. As I'm writing this review, I find I'm not sure just what to categorize the food as.

County General just serves... everything. Seriously, their menu ranges from things as classic as the chicken club sandwich to stuff as random as kim chee cauliflower soup. I guess the best way to describe it is as though a world's fair decided to upgrade bar food. My favourite dish was one of their more standard offerings: the chicken sandwich. I also thought the burger was okay, but found the Ruben sandwich to be too rich. They also serve up a great version of my favourite drink, the Caesar. All are priced well.

The decor was also pleasant. The long, narrow, sleek restaurant is light, bright, and cool. In particular, the meticulous woodwork at the bar is a standout. The atmosphere is cool, young, and very Queen Street West. As naturally follows, they play good music and cater to a younger, hip crowd.

Overall, I thought County General was a good, fun place to go. The service was good, the prices were reasonable, and the food was tasty.
