Gusto is the newest, coolest space on King West, and for good reason. This converted garage is the only restaurant in the city that has actually reminded me of the really hip places you get in New York City. You can tell they've put a lot of effort into the decor and it pays off big time. Gusto just feels cool.
Gusto has an awesome vibe, is always busy, and full of a hip, young crowd. It's the place to go for a party, which is great, but on the other hand, you're also going there for the atmosphere strictly. They've done a great job with the feel and the decor, but the food and service don't achieve the same level. They're decent but that's about it.
The Italian menu is also expensive because what you're really paying for isn't really the actual food; it's the singles party scene. What's more, although the service is fine, the food takes a long time. Also, because of the great atmosphere, Gusto is always busy. You'll be waiting for a table for a while. My advice is to wait at the bar, relax, and bask in the atmosphere.
